Pastel | 5.25 x 8.5 inches Usually my pastels are quite tight and detailed but I freed myself up in this one. I tried a metallic pastel in the sky and in different lights it shines a bit.

Pastel | 4 x 6 inches I painted this pastel from an oil I had sketched on location. The view is from Port Isaac to Port Quin – showing Doyden Castle and the shimmering bay beyond. I also completed this scene in a watercolour; each medium offers something different to this beautiful subject.

Watercolour | 6.75 x 7.75 inches I usually get really annoyed when the “treeing effect” happens which can be seen just above the horizon; but now I’ve grown to love including it in my watercolours if I can. It’s seen a lot in Brandon Cox paintings.
