The Fishermans Apprentice

Just Shellfish

Oil on board | 29 x 20 inches Every time I pass the fish cellars in Port Isaac I think it would make a great painting and now I’ve finally painted it. No detail was left out and the ‘square brush technique ‘ gives the lovely soft edged effect.

Pastel | 4 x 6 inches I painted this pastel from an oil I had sketched on location. The view is from Port Isaac to Port Quin – showing Doyden Castle and the shimmering bay beyond. I also completed this scene in a watercolour; each medium offers something different to this beautiful subject.
