Boats and birds start to feature in Kieron’s work, as a result of that early exposure to the Cornish harbours and local estuaries at Blakeney, Morston, Brancaster.
Even at an early age, Kieron was interested in and started to understand light and shade.
This was Kieron’s first drawing, drawn and coloured in Cornwall, May 2008… It was his first conscious attempt to draw what he saw.
The bright colours are jarring for Kieron and it is not long before he chooses softer more muted and natural tones of colour.
Kieron was first inspired to draw his own pictures at age 5, during the family’s first holiday in Cornwall. A small bay in Gillan prompted Kieron to ask for a drawing pad… the rest, as they say, is history!
