Watercolour | 4.5 x 7.25 inches ‘I enjoyed the challenge of this watercolour, trying capture the bright colours. I used a few pastel chalks in the sky to get the brightness.’

Watercolour | 6.25 x 4.25 inches “This was my first attempt at using gouache. It’s very similar to oils and I liked how bright the colours are and it’s easier to correct a mistake than in watercolour!”

Pastel | 11 x 7.5 inches “This is the view from the harbour wall at Crail. The mist was clearing and the sun, covered by a light cloud, looked like the moon.”

Pastel | 7 x 11 inches “I painted this on the last day of my exhibition, my 18th birthday. My first painting as an adult! I loved all the soft edges and the muted palette. This is such a nice view of the abbey.”

Pastel | 7 x 11 inches “The sky was beautiful on this particular morning. I also like how dark the trees go at harvest time, such a deep green that looks so good against the dusty brown stubble fields.”

Pastel | 7 x 11 inches ‘I got the photograph for this painting driving back from my 2020 exhibition. I loved taking the coast road home and this subject of the marshes under threatening skies was lovely.’

Pastel | 7.5 x 7.5 inches “This is probably one the most favourite pastel I’ve done. Everything from the surface of the paper to the colours and subject were just perfect. It was one of those paintings that I felt was impossible to mess up!”

Pastel | 7.5 x 7.5 inches “It was a bitterly cold March morning when I took the photo for this painting. The colours were amazing, the reds in the reflections in the wet mud. The silhouetted forms of the boats were great to paint.”

Pastel | 5 x 9 inches “These were some of the best waves I have ever seen. There was a strong onshore breeze that caused this lovey spray. The lost and found edges in the waves were important to create movement.”

Pastel | 5.25 x 7.5 inches “The colours of twilight never fail to inspire me. The sun had sunk into the sea but the sky was still full of colours. This view over Scarrabine farm and The Rumps is beautiful.”
