“The last time I painted this view was about eleven or twelve years ago. I remember fondly being eaten alive by midges and my dad using the tube from a kitchen roll to stop them from landing on me! Twelve years later, I was sat in the same spot, the field was maize and I was being crawled upon by small black caterpillar like bugs! Such are the tribulations of plein air painting!”
