“MASTS AT MORSTON”. Another chance to appreciate one of North Norfolk’s beautiful gems.

“THE BRIDGE, STAITHIES”: I like the strong light and shadows in this piece.

“THREE JAYS, BOSCASTLE”: I am pleased with how the water sparkles in this piece and being able to capture an arial view of the fishing vessels as they bob around in the harbour.

“SOLITUDE”: Boscastle harbour at high tide. This painting was used for the “It’s Our World” campaign 2015, of which I am an active Ambassador, encouraging other children to contribute to an online catalogue of work depicting their responses to their environments. See It’s Our World here.

“PORT AND FRUIT”: Still life studies allow me to sharpen my observational and drawing skills. I like the russet tones of this piece.

“THE JETTY, MORSTON”: The architectural element of the jetty in this piece offers a different perspective to an otherwise very flat but beautiful landscape.

“CHOPPY WATERS, STAITHES”. I love the almost non-existent horizon where the tonal shades of the sea and the sky reflected in it merge into one.

“SUNDAY MORNING”: Allotments are a great subject, they capture the idea of home grown, hand nurtured produce, hard work and the subsequent enjoyment of the fruits of one’s labour.

“BEFORE THE SNOW STORM”: I’m really pleased with this piece, I think the simple palette reflects the movement and spontaneity in the break in the clouds as they passed over, bringing with them the snow.

“CONTRE-JOUR, STAITHES”. The moment of opportunity to catch the sun at its highest and take full advantage of it bouncing off the water with silhouetted boats in front is a great subject.
