Oil on canvas | 8 x 16 inches It felt weird painting such an iconic London landmark not in its full glory, instead covered by scaffolding. But it was a chance to paint something that none of us will see again in our lifetime. The night sky had great crimson and cerulean tones in it

Oil on board | 8 x 12 inches Quite a simple subject was transformed by the November sunlight, that gave great sparkling highlights.

Oil on canvas| 16 x 22 inches I put a thin wash of linseed oil over the canvas that moves the paint a bit better. It works especially well with seascapes to help achieve that fluidity.

Oil on canvas | 14 x 22 inches The colours in this were lovely, the painting wouldn’t have worked if they were muted down.

Oil on board | 13 x 20 inches It was Dad who spotted this scene, whilst we were being shown around the stables by Colonel Harry Scott before seeing the changing of the guard, Dad nudged me and looked and I got a couple of photos of the lad moments before he was back to work.

Oil on canvas | 24 x 18 inches I can’t remember ever being more inspired to paint than when I was working on this. I felt quite empty after finishing this, but also chuffed that it turned out well!  After we got back on Boxing Day I made several sketches, and studies of hounds and

Oil on canvas | 16 x 20 inches I worked from quite a nice, lively 8″x10″ study that I scaled up for this piece.  I love the reflected light in the coat of the front white cow, then the contrast of the rust colours in the other cow. The landscape behind shows Thurne mill and

Oil on canvas | 14 x 18 inches The Landscape that surrounds the river Valency is absolutely beautiful in the spring, with blossoming hawthorn bushes and elder blossom, contrasting against the pretty greens of the new buds on the trees. Statuesque foxgloves and cow parsley line the hedgerows and fill the meadows. Whilst painting this I
