A day at the beach! These early paintings will remain iconic in future years, they show Kieron’s naive style, which was very quickly replaced by his use of more muted and natural tones.

Kieron was practicing using oils at an early age after a short time of being quite frustrated by their texture and drying time. It remains his favourite medium to use. Inspired by local artist Jeremy Barlow, Kieron was very taken with this composition.

Winter becomes a popular time to paint, as there is little opportunity to do much else, apart from sledging! summers remain a time to enjoy the outdoors and ice-cream! Winters are about the wood burner, early evenings indoors and painting winter scenes.

Morston was already a favourite location to paint, but when Kieron learned about the mud sliding that was a popular sport in the area, it became even more interesting!

Holkham beach became a favourite destination in all weathers for the children! it remains a place of extreme importance for us all, it’s beautiful uninterrupted coastline is unrivalled. Kieron especially loves this location at sunset.

Several artists shared their time and knowledge with Kieron, Carol Pennington, Brian Ryder, Steve Hall, Tony Garner, to name but a few. As parents who don’t paint, we couldn’t advise Kieron on technical applications to his work, and we remain very grateful for all the early help and support Kieron received.

Living without a garden, meant that we had to take the children outdoors for air and exercise, so the North Norfolk coastline became our back yard… and look at the impact it had on Kieron! Kieron appreciated great architecture and places of worship, especially churches dotted around the Norfolk countryside and further afield feature a lot in his work. His early watercolours show his innate ability to mix colour.

Again painted in 2008, another popular painting was of fishermen. Kieron loved the movement in the water in this piece.

Actually painted in 2008, this beautiful seascape painting was sold very quickly. How do you price the work of a six year old? we didn’t, the public flocked to leave sealed bids for Kieron’s work. This helped us to identify the prices at this early stage.
