Watercolour | 7 x 9.25 inches ‘I loved the red flag in the foreground, a nice flash of colour in a subtle, tonal composition. Accurately depicting the London Eye was the main challenge in this painting because it is so iconic.’

Watercolour | 6.5 x 9.5 inches ‘I can never remember the name of this mill. I should know because I usually paint it every year. This would probably also help me when I am titling the painting, too!’

Pastel | 6.5 x 9 inches ‘There was more colour in the sky before the sun came up. I remember, I had biked from Trunch to Mundesley beach in about seven minutes to get there before the sunrise. Usually, it takes a quarter of an hour!’

Pastel | 5.75 x 8.75 inches ‘This was photographed about half an hour after sunset, but there was still the most amazing glow in the sky.’ 

Pastel | 5 x 9 inches ‘It was so quiet here: only the clucking of chickens in the garden of a nearby cottage and seals bobbed about in the bay beside the castle. It was freezing cold and such a windy day; fortunately, the castle was completely sheltered.’

Pastel | 5 x 7.5 inches ‘I painted this pastel from a study in oil. it was interesting to capture the brushstrokes of the oil in the pastel. I find that the two mediums are very similar.’
