It was my sister Billie who got the photo for this, I think it was at a Christmas fair at Sandringham. The lighting on the horse was beautiful. The low winter light cast Prussian blue shadows and a nice gold tinted glow in the light. I’m particularly pleased with the rear end of the horse, from the hock to the point of the hip to the loin, the intricate shadow details were difficult to paint. As Winston Churchill said “there is something about the outside of a horse that is good for the inside of a man”.
