Dad, my older sister and I were walking back from Ephaven to Port Quin, after a long day’s painting with Barbara Hawkins. I noticed the cattle gathering around the Doyden Castle, so I gave Dad my bag and stool and ran off to photograph the cattle. I got there just as everything took on a golden hue. I took loads of photos trying to work out a composition, I also spent time just watching the way the golden sun fell on the cattle. I finally caught my Dad and sister up just past Roscarrick farm almost two miles away, an indication of how much time I’d spent photographing the cows.
