“I loved the light in this painting, the bright, crisp winter sun made the coat on the horse dazzle. The red jacket really ‘set off’ the greens, so I was careful to not make the greens too peaky. I enjoyed painting the sunbathed hound looking up to the master, capturing the bond between man and dog.”
