About the painting:
“There were a few rain clouds in the sky and despite the forecast looking clear, my father and I got caught in a couple of rain showers while we were out, as is often the way in Cornwall!
I had spotted this subject the previous day, having walked from St Just in Roseland, a small village around six miles from Troro, to the cliffs to St Mawes. It was the shapes of the houses and interesting chimney stacks that caught my eye. The light was fleeting and was at its best (not to bright) for only short periods in time. Adding the old chap ambling down the road to get his morning paper made for a lovely part of the composition. Walking back to the car alongside the harbour, seeing the crystal clear and turquoise waters, my thoughts soon turned to going for a swim!”Kieron
