“I love these mornings you sometimes get in March; everything is quiet and still. This view is just a short cycle from where I live but confess, I had misjudged where the sun would rise. I was working away before sunrise, having undertaken my drawing I had painted in the trees and mist, with just the sky to do. But as the sun rose beside me (and not in front of me), I realised my mistake. So, I borrowed the sky and put it in my painting … a little bit of artistic license!“
