“Elsie, my girlfriend, had dropped me off at the top of Church Hill in Port Isaac and went to find somewhere to park. I had to walk down a really muddy track to get onto the cliffs. I had forgotten my wellies, so I had to avoid all the mud and puddles – not an easy task! As I got onto the cliffs dusk was falling and I realised I didn’t have a torch. It was a fair walk to where I’d settled on my desired spot and then I realised I had forgotten my phone too. So I was tested even before I started my painting! I took the photo for this as I walked back to the car, with a frost forming and the moon in the sky – a good ending after a rather challenging start!”
