Dew Of August

Oil on Board | 12 x 15 inches

“The type of subject I spend most of my summers trying to paint – cattle in the mist at sunrise – with varying degrees of success. In these types of subjects, a fine balance has to be found, the colours have to be subtle and understated but have to be bright enough to captivate the viewer. The cattle really must have a lot of white on them, a darker coloured
cow would just silhouette against the mist and the effect would be lost.”
