Cattle Lowing

Pastel | 5 x 7 inches

“When travel restrictions were lifted slightly, ‘The Rumps’, a clifftop walk at Pentire Point, became a favourite place to visit with my girlfriend Elsie. I was always keen to see the cattle wintering on these fields overlooking the sea. While painting it I was reminded of the line “the lowing herd winds slowly o’er the lea” from the poem by Thomas Gray called, Gray’s Elegy written in a country Church Yard.”
