“The valley that is the backdrop behind the cattle is absolutely stunning. Every time I walk to Port Quin I marvel at it; whether it be clad in primroses in spring, the golden trees in autumn or the steely blue frost in winter. I took the photograph for this on an eventful morning when I also saw the sheep being herded through the valley and out onto the road from the next field! I called the painting ‘All Hallow Tide’ because that was the day I painted it on!”
