There was an honesty to Kieron’s work in that he painted the sky as it was… he didn’t tweak it to be better balanced, or chocolate boxy, which is often a temptation. He would try to get his boats to look as if they had ‘swallowed a marble!’ to remind himself to try to create the curved nature of the sides… bless!
