Pastel | 8 x 6 inches It was lovely watching the sun sink into the sea, it was a great end to a summer’s day. The colours were so bright, you almost have to squint as you look at the sun in this painting.”

Pastel | 6 x 8 inches “Not the usual view of Blakeney church, but a lovely view nonetheless. The summer hedgerows brimming with flowers and insects were great to paint. My girlfriend says what a cheerful painting it is – and I think she’s right!”

Pastel | 6 x 6 inches “I liked the light catching the flowers on the potatoes. There were some lovely warm and cool purples in the sky and in the distance. I felt it was important to not make the field too green. ”

Watercolour | 10 x 14 inches “I enjoyed capturing the little figures on the beach and the surfers and body boarders in the waves- what better way to spend a summer evening.”

Watercolour | 7 x 9 inches “I love painting subjects like this in watercolour. There was a wonderful iridescent glow on the sea that was vital to get right; otherwise the subject would’ve looked lacklustre. Note the lost and found edges throughout the painting.”

Watercolour | 7 x 9 inches “The last of the evening sunlight catching St Michael’s Mount. The colours were beautiful and there was such contrast, from the golden yellow in the sky to the cool blue of the sea.”

Watercolour | 7 x 9 inches “Watercolour wouldn’t be my first choice for depicting this subject- a subject more suited to an oil painting. However, I was pleased with the outcome. I was really trying to get rich colours from a medium that tends to be very subtle.”
